About the project

Vidin Plaza is the first retail park in Vidin and the largest retail zone in Northwestern Bulgaria and the border regions. This large-scale project transforms the city’s commercial infrastructure and stimulates the economic and social development of the entire region. Located on Panonia Boulevard, the park covers an area of 46,950 sq.m., with 16,080 sq.m. allocated for retail and storage spaces. The investor behind its construction is Dunonia AD, and its opening has created over 80 new jobs, contributing to the local economy and offering new opportunities.

The architects from IPA designed the concept for Vidin Plaza based on the idea of a modern, multifunctional commercial space that blends seamlessly into the urban environment while contributing to regional development. The project aims to create more than just a shopping area - it seeks to provide a comprehensive experience for both residents and visitors, combining shopping, leisure, and social interactions in a welcoming setting.

Vidin Plaza involves the transformation of an existing industrial building, a former sewing factory, along with adjacent structures. The approach prioritizes preserving as much of the existing infrastructure as possible while integrating new elements into the context of the old buildings. Parts of the former production complex have been restored and adapted to meet the new requirements for retail and storage functionality. This approach highlights the connection between past and present, giving the retail park a unique identity and an authentic feel. The transformation of this iconic site, where world-class fashion was once produced, revitalizes the area.

One of the project’s primary objectives is to improve the urban environment in Northwestern Bulgaria. Designed as an open, accessible, and convenient space, the park complements the city’s layout without disrupting its natural rhythm.

With a capacity for 500 parking spaces and easy access from major roads, the park ensures convenience for visitors. The layout of the retail and storage spaces is carefully planned to facilitate navigation and create a welcoming atmosphere. The park’s concept is aimed at meeting the diverse needs of customers. Offering a wide selection of international and Bulgarian brands, Vidin Plaza provides high-quality products and services across various categories, including fashion, technology, home goods, sports, and more. It delivers a convenient and diverse shopping experience, creating a pleasant and functional space for modern consumers.

Various indoor and outdoor areas within the complex are designed to host events, fostering communication and cultural exchange while promoting community spirit and social engagement. This multifunctionality adds to its uniqueness, making it a preferred destination for leisure activities.

The retail park hosts over ten brands, including New Yorker, Pepco, Teodor, KiK, Sinsay, Pause Jeans, Lilly, Technomarket, and others.

Vidin Plaza is a landmark in Vidin, merging commerce and social interaction in one space. Through its concept, the project revives the city’s tradition as an important economic hub, offering a modern and convenient space for locals and visitors alike. The combination of contemporary retail concepts with the historical context of the area creates a unique atmosphere.

Vidin Plaza is not just a commercial center but also a key element of Vidin’s evolving urban landscape. It offers a variety of goods and services, along with opportunities for social interactions and events. With its multifunctionality and commitment to sustainable development, the retail park is a vital component of the city’s future, fostering economic growth and strengthening social connectivity.
